Eagan Residents Displaced After Thanksgiving Fire

Several Eagan residents won't be able to go home this Thanksgiving because of a fire at their apartment building overnight.

Firefighters responded to the Cinnamon Ridge Apartments on Slater Road around 3:30 this morning and saw fire on all three floors of the apartment building. 24 units were evacuated and residents of six apartments are displaced. The Salvation Army is helping them out.

A majority of the damage was done to the exterior of the apartments. Several apartments received heavy smoke and water damage.

One resident suffered minor burns while trying to put out the fire.

The Eagan Fire Marshal believes the fire started on the balcony of one of the apartments, but the exact cause is under investigation.
