Snow Causes Headaches for Drivers
Monday morning's dusting of snow was pretty tough on drivers.
MnDOT says they did not pre-treat the roads because they were not expecting the conditions to get as bad as they did. "We weren't anticipating anything other than flurries," said Kent Banard with MnDOT.
There were no reports of serious injuries, however there were plenty of drivers sliding on the icy roads. 5 Metro Transit Buses were stuck and 40 percent of the buses were delayed an average of 10 minutes. One was stuck on 35W for about 40 minutes, no passengers were on board.
There was a major backup on 35W at Lake Street after a pick-up pulling a trailer hit the median.
At least 50 accidents were reported to the State Patrol during the morning rush hour.
Many of you reported on our daily poll at KSTP.com, your commute was anywhere from 10 to 60 minutes longer this morning.
