MnDOT Commissioner Departing for AAA Mpls.

Tom Sorel is stepping down as the commissioner of MnDOT.

He's going to become the president and CEO of AAA Minneapolis.

Sorel has been with MnDOT since April of 2008.

He served with both the Pawlenty Administration and the Dayton Administration.

“Tom Sorel has served the State of Minnesota with excellence, and I thank him for his dedicated public service to the people of Minnesota,” said Governor Mark Dayton.

“Tom’s strong leadership, depth of knowledge, and decades of experience will serve him well in this new venture. I wish him well as he takes on this new role.”

Sorel will begin his new job with AAA Dec. 1.
