Medical Examiner Identifies Cab Driver Killed in 494 Crash

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified the cab driver killed in a seven vehicle crash Monday morning on 494 as 57-year-old Nadir Ombabi from Burnsville.

The crash happened around 5 a.m. on Interstate-494 between France and Penn Avenues. 

According to the Minnesota State Patrol a vehicle ran out of gas and stalled in the right lane, causing the multi-vehicle crash.

A cab swerved to avoid the crash and was sideswiped in the westbound lanes.

The cab driver was killed in the crash.

The westbound interstate closed between France and Penn.
