Woman Shot on 35E in Apparent Road Rage Incident

Eagan Police are asking the public for help after a woman was shot on 35E in an apparent case of road rage. Police say the 26-year-old woman was one of eight people in a Volkswagen Jetta at the time of the shooting. They say she was riding in the front seat on someone's lap, with her back to the window when she was hit in the shoulder.

Police say the Jetta was getting on to 35E north from Cliff Road when a SUV began tailgating it. Witnesses say the driver of the Jetta slowed down and gave the SUV the finger.

That's when witnesses say the SUV pulled up alongside the Jetta and someone inside fired at least two shots at the Jetta, hitting the woman. No one else inside the car was hurt.

The driver of the Jetta,28 year-old Grant Hengy from St. Paul was arrested and is being held on probable cause 2nd degree DWI. His first court appearance is Monday.

Meanwhile, investigators are following up on leads, but say most of the witnesses were drunk. They are now asking the public for help. They want anyone with any information on this incident to call them at (651) 675-5700.
