Plymouth VFW Hopes New Updates Will Bring New Members
The Plymouth VFW post is looking for a few good men.
Most of it's 103 members served in World War 2 or the Korean War, now they're hoping to expand membership among veterans who served in the Gulf War and the War on Terror.
To help that cause, they've added some new improvements to their VFW Hall: new lights, new chairs, new window treatments and new paint in hopes of attracting a younger crowd. They are showing off the remodeled hall at an open house this weekend.
For practical purposes, the post needs the revenue younger members will bring. However, younger members might need the VFW as well: one member says it offers a sense of welcome and fellowship veterans can't find anywhere else.
