Kevin Love Breaks Hand, Will Miss 6-8 Weeks
Timberwolves all-star forward Kevin Love has broken his hand, and is expected to miss 6 to 8 weeks.
A release from the team says the injury occurred Wednesday morning while working out.
The specific injury are fractures to his third and fourth metacarpal in his right hand.
According to the team release, Love will be examined Thursday by Dr. Andy Weiland, a hand specialist in New York.
Love averaged 26.0 points and 13.3 rebounds for the Timberwolves last season, leading the team in both categories.
Entering the 2012-13 season, the Timberwolves were already without point guard Ricky Rubio, who is still rehabbing a torn knee ligament he suffered late last season.
The Timberwolves open the season Friday, November 2nd at home against Sacremento.
