Minnesota Wild Season Opener Canceled

High expectations, tons of excitement, and new superstar players all put on hold Saturday night.

The NHL lockout kept the Minnesota Wild off the ice at Xcel Energy Center for the opening game of the season. Instead the Wild held open skating for about one thousand season ticket holders. Fans got to hit the ice, sit on the team bench, and check out the locker rooms.

Down the block from the X at Tom Reid's Hockey City Pub business was down. Without a game the bar cut it's staff by half Saturday night..

The nearly month long NHL lockout has canceled all games through October 24th.
