EmailBike Lanes Cause Confusion in Edina
New "advisory" bike lanes in Edina have prompted some complaints, some close calls and even a fender bender along Woodale Avenue and 54th Street.
The lanes are dotted on each side, and the center dividing line for cars has been eliminated.
Some drivers don't realize they can drive over the dotted line if there's not a biker in the lane.
The mayor says they might have to make some changes, like adding permanent signs to guide drivers or re-paint the center dividing line.
Bike lane advocates say residents should be patient and that drivers will get used to the change.
