Complaint: 2 Mpls. City Workers Illegally Accessed DVS Records

The head of the Minneapolis Housing Inspections Division and one of his employees are facing criminal charges.

Two criminal complaints say Inspections Director Tom Deegan and one of his employees illegally accessed the driver's license and motor vehicle registrations of people unrelated to official business.

Deegan is a 37-year employee with the City of Minneapolis.

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety says these accusations are taken very seriously.

Investigators have not stated what the two city workers were doing with the information they obtained illegally.
