Boxelder Bug Invasion Hits Twin Cities this Fall

The Twin Cities Metro can expect a larger than normal infestation of boxelder bugs this fall.

Larry Rufledt owns Westside Pest Solutions, he says this year shows every sign of being memorable. "I can't remember in the last 10 years it being this bad and I've been doing this 38 years."

Randi Beauchane lives in Cocoran. She says she spotted a few bugs over the weekend, but by Tuesday her home was covered. "Today it hit like an invasion," she said. There we so many on the back of her home, when she opened her door the bugs tried to move right in. "I had 200 or 300 just fall into the house!"
