Bloomington Man Sentenced in Vise-Throwing Incident

A Bloomington man accused of hurling a heavy metal vise through a car windshield, knocking the driver unconscious, is sentenced to more than six years in prison.
National Guard Sgt. First Class Jonathan Stacke suffered severe injuries to his face, jaw and teeth when the vise crashed through his windshield.
Gerret Parks was sentenced to 75 months in prison. He was also ordered to pay about $5,000 restitution to victims, and an amount of restitution to Stacke.
The amount of restitution Stacke will receive has not yet been determined.
Investigators say they linked Parks to five incidents of thrown objects, although police had 14 reports of objects hurled at cars and trucks in Bloomington between December and February, including rocks, bottles and an anvil.
