Security will be stepped up at the Woodbury hotel where a deadly standoff happened. The City of Woodbury met with the Red Roof Inn management last week.
In a statement, the city says "the Red Roof Inn will enhance its check-in procedures and all guests will be told about the hotel's zero tolerance policy for illegal and inappropriate behavior. The Red Roof Inn will also be the first hotel to participate in a staff training program by the Public Safety Department."
Police say 24-year-old Demetrius Ballinger held 11 people hostage for nearly four hours last month. In the end, he gave up. But Woodbury police mistakenly shot and killed 18 year-old Mark Henderson, a hostage in the situation.
