Two Harbors Man Found After Being Lost for 4 Days

A 48-year-old Two Harbors man was found dehydrated and hypothermic after being lost for four days in thick woods in Lake County.

County Undersheriff Steve Van Kekerix says John Koepsell was driving but stopped because his car was overheating, took a short walk and got turned around. He was scouting for the hunting season about 30 miles north of Two Harbors.

A property owner found Koepsell's car Tuesday evening and called the sheriff. A deputy responded, yelled out and Koepsell responded.

Capt. Jim Williams tells the Duluth News Tribune after they located Koepsell, it took two hours to get him out with six men carrying him on a backboard.

Kekerix said Koepsell was unable to tell them much about what happened. He was taken to a Two Harbors hospital.
