Sheriff: Rogers Copper Theft Suspects had Wire Cutter, Voltage Meter

A voltage meter, crowbar, wire cutter, and bolt cutter were among the tools a Hennepin County Sheriff's Office spokesperson said were being carried by two men accused of trying to steal copper from a Rogers business.
Late on the night of August 31, Rogers Police and a Hennepin County Deputy with a K-9 responded to Anderson Iron Works to find out what had triggered a security alarm.
"Upon arrival, a woman told officers that she was at the location with two men and she said that one of them had stolen copper from the business in the past," said Sheriff's Office spokesperson Lisa Kiava. "The deputy and K-9 located the two men on the ground near an electrical junction box outside of the building."
Kiava said the tools were carried in backpacks.
54-year-old Shane Timothy Miller of Circle Pines and 38-year-old Jason Allen Barton of Andover were arrested. They now each face a felony charge of possession of burglary or theft tools.
