Fridley Parents Question Handling of School Bus Accident
After her daughter got off a school bus hurt, scared and late, a Fridley mother and other parents have questions and concerns about how an accident the first day of school was handled.
Six-year-old Alexis and her friend Selena say their bus was rear-ended by a car on Wednesday. Alexis bumped her head.
Police at the scene checked out all the riders and gave the all clear to go home. Twenty-two students in all, were put on a replacement bus with a different driver.
An hour after they were scheduled to be home, Alexis and Selena got home. Their parents were worried sick and wondered why they didn't hear from the school district about the bus accident, that their daughters would be late and why they were reportedly dropped off at the wrong bus stop.
The school district insists safety personnel and police checked out all of the kids and gave the all clear to send them home. Plus, claims personnel made every attempt to reach parents.
The owner of Lorenz Bus Company told us they have GPS systems on every bus and will investigate where the girls were dropped off.
