Excitement Builds for Gophers Home Opener
Students and Goldie are pumped up for Saturday's home opener against New Hampshire at TCF Bank stadium. So excited they're predicting the score.
"Four billion to three," a student said.
There's lots of excitement now but Saturday's game isn't even sold out.
It's led head football coach Jerry Kill to hand out tickets to students to help get a packed house.
"As a football program there's no question we need the students," head football coach Jerry Kill said.
One concern fans have is parking. Well have no fear, school officials say, they have roughly 15,000 spaces available, that means on street parking, decks to lots.
With light rail construction ongoing it may pose a bit daunting for fans driving to the game.
"It's hard to get around, " a student said.
That may be the case but here's some updates you will need to know, Washington Avenue, between Oak Street and Huron Boulevard, will temporarily open to vehicles on Saturday for the game. The road will re-close again on Monday. And a quick reminder, all the other ways folks have been using to get to school like University and fourth street are open.
