Klobuchar Pays Convention Visit to Iowa Activists

Sen. Amy Klobuchar made time at the Democratic National Convention to speak to a breakfast meeting of the Iowa delegation, a regular stop for politicians with presidential ambitions.

Klobuchar stopped by the Iowa breakfast Wednesday morning in Charlotte, N.C. She tells The Associated Press that she "loves being in the Senate" and is not planning a presidential run. Klobuchar noted that she also spoke to delegates from Wisconsin, South Carolina and Louisiana.

Iowa's first-in-the-nation caucus can make or break presidential ambitions. Klobuchar says she mostly talked about agriculture policy and joked with delegates that she can "see Iowa from my front porch."

The website Politico first reported Klobuchar's talk with Iowa activists. The same breakfast featured visits by Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley and Virginia Sen. Mark Warner, both seen as 2016 Democratic contenders.
