A column of smoke from a house fire in Brooklyn Park was so high, fire crews called in extra help before they even arrived at the scene.

Initial reports led Brooklyn Park fire to believe someone may have been in the home located on the 4100 block of 78th Ave, turns out there was no one inside.

Investigators believe the fire started in the garage, and spread to other parts of the home, causing extensive damage.  They aren't saying right now what may have sparked the fire.

Fire crews from Osseo, West Metro, Brooklyn Center, Plymouth, Maple Grove, Rogers, Coon Rapids and Anoka-Champlin also helped fight the fire, which started around 1:30pm on Saturday, according to fire officials on scene.
