Community Leaders Decry Video of Cop Kicking Man

A coalition of black community and religious leaders are denouncing the actions of a St. Paul police officer who was caught on video kicking a man lying on the ground.
The group gathered Saturday to speak out against the way Eric Hightower was arrested. Video of Hightower's Tuesday arrest shows an officer kicked him once in the chest. The video was recorded by a citizen and posted to YouTube Wednesday.
Two officers are on paid administrative leave and an internal investigation continues.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports community leaders are concerned that trust between the public and police has been damaged beyond repair.
Hightower's attorney, Seamus Mahoney, says they plan to sue. Mahoney has said Hightower experienced ear pain, headaches and swelling in his chest.
