EmailPedestrian Lying in Road Killed by Vehicle
A pedestrian is dead after being hit by a vehicle in Northern Township near Bemidji.
The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office said the incident happened around 3 a.m. Saturday near Balsam Road on Irvine Avenue Northwest.
Officers say 21-year-old Tyler Blake Cummings of Bemidji was pronounced dead at the scene after he was hit by a car driven by 19-year-old Samantha Ruth Pender of Bemidji. Deputies say Cummings was lying in the roadway.
Pender and the others in the vehicle weren’t injured and stayed at the scene until officers arrived.
The case remains under investigation.
