Blacktop Mystery in Washington Co. Causes Problems for Drivers
A baffling black top mystery in Washington County is causing problems for drivers and leaving engineers scratching their heads.
Two weeks ago the county put down new asphalt on 10th Street in Oakdale. Somehow the pavement shifted, creating bumps on the road for a 1/2 mile stretch. The county is hiring help to drill down for soil samples and investigate the mystery. They hope to repair the road by this fall.
The county says the project cost more than $600,000 but they don't know how much it will cost to fix the pavement..
