State Senate Campaign Flier Angers Congressman Erik Paulsen

The flier was sent out by Republican primary candidate, Connie Doepke, in the race for her party's representation in Senate District 33 along Lake Minnetonka and a good portion of western Hennepin County.

In the flier, there is a photo of Doepke and Congressman Erik Paulsen with a quote from Paulsen applauding Doepke's service in the Legislature. It even has a facsimile of Paulsen's signature. But, the Congressman took exception to the campaign ad.

In a statement, Paulsen says, in part, that he did not authorize or approve the photo or the quote and that he endorses the Party's endorsed candidate, Republican Dave Osmek. Doepke did not want to talk on camera, but told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS, in a statement, in part, that the photo and quote are factual and she regrets any confusion over the endorsement issue. Her opponent, Dave Osmek, says she is pulling a fast one on voters and her actions are embarrassing with just one week to go before the primary election.
