AG Outlines New Cases of Alleged Pressure Tactics by Accretive Health
Minnesota’s Attorney General is outlining new cases of people who say they were pressured by collection agency Accretive Health.
In one case, parents say they paid $400 while they waited in an emergency room with their daughter, who suffered from depression. She was crying and curled up in the fetal position.
In another case, parents of a 3-year-old heart transplant recipient felt forced to pay twice before he had surgery.
Another mom says she was asked to pay while her daughter was waiting to see a surgeon after a dog bit her eye.
The attorney general is suing Accretive Health, and the company is seeking to have the lawsuit dismissed.
