Report: Boy Hit by Car in Brooklyn Park in Critical Condition

A 13-year-old boy is in critical condition after being hit by a car in Brooklyn Park Wednesday night, according to a published report.

A State Patrol spokesperson said the crash happened at 10:02 p.m. at Highway 252 and 73rd Avenue North.  A 2003 Toyota Corolla was northbound on 252 "when the pedestrian on a bicycle crossed from the east side of (the) intersection to west and was hit," said the spokesperson in a report posted on the State Patrol website.

The Pioneer Press reports that the boy was taken to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale where he is listed in critical condition.  The newspaper also quotes the State Patrol as saying alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

His name has not been released.
