Home for Sale to Benefit Spinal Muscular Atrophy Research

A Delano home was built using donated time and discounted supplies. When it sells, profits will go to Families of SMA, a group that provides funding to research Spinal Muscular Atrophy.

There are several different types of SMA. Bella Andrade, a 9-year-old from Plymouth, has Type 2. She can't walk or stand, and she's much more prone to respiratory problems.

She was the inspiration for building the Delano "Home for the Cure." Her father, Jeff Martineau Andrade, is a realtor and called on people to donate time and discounted supplies. The home was built with a lot of volunteered time by Everlast Enterprises. They're now selling the home with profits going to Families of SMA.

Jeff has also spear-headed the building and auction of two other area homes years ago. That money also went to Families of SMA.
