Vigil Honors 5-Year-Old Boy Killed in North Mpls Shooting

Community members gathered in north Minneapolis Saturday to remember a young shooting victim and call for an end to the violence.

Funeral services for 5-year-old Nizzel George will be held Tuesday, a week after the boy was hit by a bullet inside his grandmother's home.

On Thursday evening, police arrested two juveniles in Brooklyn Center in connection with the shooting. One person was arrested for probable cause murder, the other for probable cause weapons possession. Both could be charged as soon as Monday.

People at Saturday's vigil had a chance to sign up for neighborhood watch programs as part of an effort to prevent future violence.
