Police are investigating after a woman died in a downtown Minneapolis parking garage.
Around 9 p.m. Saturday, officers and paramedics responded to a call of a woman needing medical attention at the parking garage at Ninth Street and LaSalle Avenue.
They tried to save her life, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the woman suffered knife wounds.
At this point, the Minneapolis Police Department does not believe there is a public safety risk. Police are not looking for a suspect in connection with this case.
The parking garage is just blocks from Loring Park, where thousands of people were celebrating during the Twin Cities Pride Festival Saturday. Minneapolis police say this is not an instance of a hate crime.
