Teen Pregnancy in U.S. Declines

The teen pregnancy rate in the United States is dropping significantly.

A new report by the National Center for Health Statistics found the number of teen pregnancies dropped 40 percent between 1990 and 2008. The pregnancy rate in 2008 was also the lowest since 1976.

The overall declines are reflected in significant decreases in the number of live births and induced abortions between 1990 and 2008.
