The State Patrol said a car hit a wall along Highway 12 Tuesday morning, careening across the median into the path of an oncoming semi.
The driver of the car was killed.
It happened around 6:45 a.m. at County Road 6 in Orono.
According to a State Patrol report, a 1992 Honda Accord was traveling westbound when the driver lost control.
The Honda crossed over into the oncoming lane, and into the path of an eastbound semi.
The driver of the Honda was killed. The State Patrol said the driver of the semi was not hurt.
The crash closed down Highway 12 in both directions.
