12 Minn. Soldiers Arriving From Afghanistan
Twelve members of the Minnesota National Guard are scheduled to arrive home after a one-year deployment in Afghanistan.
The soldiers are part of the Operational Mentoring and Liaison Team, or OMLT. They partnered with Croatian soldiers to train, mentor and advise Afghan soldiers.
The soldiers are expected to be reunited with their families Saturday afternoon in Roseville.
Army Maj. John P. Wisniewski says nine of the 12 soldiers are fathers, so it's especially exciting for them to return in time for Father's Day.
Army Capt. Tim M. Grinde is a demobilization officer for the Minnesota National Guard. He says this is the fifth of six OMLT groups to return from Afghanistan.
