Authorities: Truck Impounded in Connection With Hit-and-Run

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office says a truck was impounded and being processed Friday in connection with the hit-and-run that injured a 9-year-old boy.

Authorities have not released any other details on the development, other than to say an investigation is ongoing and no suspect is being sought.

Amir Kahron Taylor of Minneapolis remained in critical condition at North Memorial Medical Center Friday, two days after he was hit by a pickup truck while riding his bike near 111th Avenue and Kumquat Street NW.

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office says the driver of the truck did not stop.

Taylor's mother, Ravesha Harris, says the vehicle is familiar to the Coon Rapids neighborhood where her son was hit. Family members were asking car parts stores, used car parts dealers and yards to be on the lookout for anything suspicious.

Authorities describe the suspect vehicle as a black 1993 to 1998 Chevrolet Z71 with an extended cab and short box. It has driver's side damage, as well as a dangling side mirror.

The driver is believed to be a white man in his late 20s or early 30s with blonde hair and an unshaven face.
