Homeless Man Paralyzed After Mpls. Library Shooting
Doctors say a man is paralyzed from the waist down after getting shot in a library bathroom.
The shooting happened in the Franklin Community Library, which is in the 1300 block of East Franklin Avenue in Minneapolis.
Investigators are going through surveillance video to try to get a better look at the shooter, who they say goes by the street name Xavier.
Meanwhile, the 42-year-old man who was shot is being cared for at a local hospital. Police are calling this an 'unprovoked attack.' It happened around 1 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
The victim, who is a homeless man, was washing his hands and brushing his teeth in the library bathroom.
He told investigators the shooter came up behind him at the sink, said something he couldn't understand, and shot him once in the back.
Police say the men had seen each other before, but they have no reason to believe there was any bad blood between them.
