Authorities ID Victim, Suspect in Mpls. Hotel Shooting
One person is dead and another in custody after a shooting at a downtown Minneapolis hotel.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office says 33-year-old Jeremy Shannon died of multiple gunshot wounds inside the Millennium Hotel, located in the 1300 block of Nicollet Mall.
Officers were called there around 2:30 a.m. Saturday on a report of a shooting, according to Minneapolis police. Shannon was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers located a suspect at a nearby hotel. They later identified him as 33-year-old Brian Vincent Griffin of Minneapolis. He was being held in the Hennepin County Jail Saturday.
