Trustee Asks Judge to Dismiss Hecker's Bankruptcy Appeal
In a motion filed Friday afternoon, court-appointed trustee Randy Seaver has asked a federal judge to dismiss Denny Hecker's bankruptcy appeal, arguing the imprisoned former auto dealer "has no cognizable property interest," in the more than $4 million at stake.
Hecker appealed a June settlement that split the money amongst several creditors and the estate, but not Hecker, who is serving a 10-year prison term for fraud.
Hecker appealed the bankruptcy settlement in U.S. District Court last month, claiming he may be entitled to some of the $4,100,000 settlement.
Seaver has been trying to liquidate Hecker's assets and pay off Hecker's hundreds of millions in debt. The trustee says Hecker's appeal has no merit.
