Hecker From Prison: Locked Up, But 'I'm Happier'

nullWith only a fraction of his 10-year prison sentence behind him, convicted auto dealer Denny Hecker says his former high-flying lifestyle is only "a memory," with no comparison to the structured life he now lives, an existence marked by sweeping building steps, taking Spanish class, and doing tasks that make him far "happier" than before.

"I walked away from the life I had. That's a memory. I'm living for tomorrow," Hecker told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS in a face-to-face interview Friday from inside the Federal Prison Camp in Duluth.

Hecker, 58, is serving his decade-long sentence after pleading guilty to two counts of fraud last year.
