The suspect in a damage to property incident near Lake Osakis led authorities on a chase through two Minnesota counties at speeds up to 100 miles per hour. Terry Jean Russell was arrested Wednesday According to Todd County Sheriff's deputy John Decock, deputies were called to a home on County Road 10 near the lake around 10 p.m. Wednesday. A woman reported that someone had damaged her property. Deputies spotted the suspect, who was identified by authorities as Russell, leaving the home in a 1993 Pontiac Grand Prix. Deputies and Long Prairie police officers tried to stop the car, but Russell allegedly sped off. Russell is accused of leading authorities on a 26-mile chase through Todd and Morrison counties. When the chase reached Little Falls, Morrison County deputies were able to perform a "PIT" maneuver to stop the car. According to Decock, Russell could be charged with fleeing a police officer, refusing to take a DWI test, careless driving, damage to property, driving without insurance, driving with a revoked license and speeding. |
