Teen crashes car into Shoreview strip mall
Police say a 19-year-old crashed his car into a strip mall in Shoreview Sunday, breaking a water main that flooded several businesses...
The incident happened around 3 a.m. at the Midland Plaza off County Road E and Victoria, according to officers.
The car was traveling east on County Road E and went through the light at Victoria. Investigators believe the vehicle was traveling so fast that when it hit the end of the road, it went up the hill and then became airborne before hitting Bill’s Grocery and Tobacco store.
The car also broke a water main, which flooded Bill's and Ronnelly's restaurant.
The driver, who has not been identified, was taken to an area hospital. The Ramsey County Sheriff's Office says the driver suffered only minor injuries.
Police did say they are investigating whether alcohol played a role in the crash.
