Ironworld changes names in hopes of more visitors
A state-owned tourist attraction has changed its name in hopes of attracting more visitors. Ironworld, in Chisolm, has been renamed the Minnesota Discovery Center.
A 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS investigation last year found the museum dedicated to the Iron Range was receiving more than $2 million in state funding, but only had about 42 visitors a day.
The museum says the new name allows them to tell a more complete story of the Iron Range’s past, present, and future.
