The first charges came down Monday in what authorities describe as forced prostitution. Police say there could be more victims. The suspect, Maurice White has a long rap sheet. On Monday, prosecutors charged him with felony false imprisonment. He's accused of holding an 18-year-old woman against her will for three days and forcing her to have sex with men the entire time. The woman told police White would drive her between a motel in Brooklyn Center and an apartment complex on Knox Avenue North in Minneapolis. The woman eventually managed to call 911 last Thursday. When police arrived they forced their way into an apartment. According to the criminal complaint officers eventually found the woman behind the building, inside a car. Police arrested nine people in all, but so far only White has been charged. Lieutenant Nancy Dunlap, leader of the Minneapolis Police Sex Crimes Unit told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS she suspects other women are involved, and urged any other victims to contact them. White will make his first court appearance Tuesday |
