We're facing more ramp and bridge closures around the metro. The work is all part of a series of new projects that will kick off this week.

A 2 1/2 year project on Highway 100 in St. Louis Park begins Monday Aug. 11. Expect to see construction activity between 36th Street and Berry Street. The Minnesota Department of Transportation plans to add an auxiliary lane, plus reconfigure and reconstruct the bridges and ramps at Highway 7 and Minnetonka Boulevard.

The Lowry Avenue and Boone Avenue bridges in Minneapolis and Brooklyn Park will close at I-94 early Monday morning. The bridges should reopen around Sept. 1.

In the south metro, a new project along I-494 and 12th Avenue and Cedar Avenue and I-494 begins on Monday. Several bridges will be either repaired or reconstructed. The 12th Avenue Bridge over I-494 will close for about three weeks in early September. Cedar Avenue will stay open, but there will be traffic switches, narrow lanes and ramp closures until early October.

The ramps to and from I-35W southbound and 94th Street are closing early Tuesday, Aug. 12, until mid-September. The detour takes you to 98th Street.

In Minneapolis, the Hennepin Avenue ramp to I-35W northbound closes Aug. 12-26.
