Court dates have been set for the man suspected of killing Mendota Heights police officer Scott Patrick.
Brian Fitch Sr. of Mendota Heights has been accused of shooting Patrick in the head, leg and abdomen during a traffic stop in West St. Paul last Wednesday.
Fitch ran from the scene, according to police. The 39-year-old was found in St. Paul, where he was shot several times after he fired at police.
He has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in Dakota County. He also faces attempted murder, assault and dangerous weapon charges in Ramsey County.
His first court appearance in Dakota County is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 11. He then has a first appearance in Ramsey County court scheduled on Wednesday, Aug. 13.
At last check, Fitch remained in the hospital and was being guarded by law enforcement.
