Fire officials in Isanti County say at least two oxygen tanks exploded inside a Cambridge home, creating an inferno that could have killed the home's occupant if not for one man's quick actions.

Fire crews were called to the blaze on the 2200 block of Red Pine Drive South just before 9 a.m. Saturday. They arrived to find the trailer home engulfed in flames.

The sole occupant had already been pulled out by a man identified as Tom Simon.

Corey Bustrom of the Cambridge Fire Department says fire officials, as well as the city, consider Tom a hero.

The person Simon saved was taken to a hospital. That person's condition wasn't immediately known.

Fire officials say the oxygen tanks caught fire and exploded through the roof and walls like missiles.
