Construction season is well underway in Minnesota, and drivers won’t be getting a break from roadwork until November.
In Edina, Highway 169 southbound remains closed from Highway 62 to Valleyview Road until the end of July. The detour takes you along Interstate 394 and Interstate 494.
In Bloomington, the 94th Street bridge over Interstate 35W closes on Monday, July 7. The ramps will stay open for now, but are expected to shut down later this month.
Brooklyn Boulevard over Highway 100 will close in Brooklyn Center on Wednesday, July 9. The Minnesota Department of Transportation is planning to close Highway 100 at Brooklyn Boulevard the weekend of July 11 through July 14.
In the east metro, Interstate 35E is reduced to two lanes in each direction from Little Canada Road to Maryland Avenue until mid-October. Highway 61 is single lane in White Bear Lake between Lake Avenue and 7th Street until this fall.
Groundbreaking on the I-94 expansion project in St. Michael and Rogers took place earlier this week. You probably won’t notice any changes in the area until early August. The Minnesota Department of Transportation says lane closures that occur this year will only take place during off-peak periods. The project will be completed by October of 2015.
