The New Brighton man charged in the murder of his neighbor is expected to make a court appearance Wednesday.
Fifty-seven-year-old Neal Zumberge is accused of shooting and killing Todd Stevens and injuring Stevens’ girlfriend, Jennifer Damerow-Cleven, last month. He has been charged with second-degree murder and second-degree attempted murder.
Zumberge and Stevens reportedly had a long-standing feud over deer feeding.
The shooting happened on the 2500 block of Knollwood Drive around 8:30 p.m. Monday, May 5. Stevens died from a gunshot wound, and 48-year-old Damerow-Cleven was shot in the stomach, according to family members.
Police say Damerow-Cleven had an active harassment restraining order against Zumberge.
Zumberge is being held on a $1.5 million bond.
