One man is dead after injuries he sustained during a shooting in North Minneapolis in November.
According to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s office, Larry Jones, 41, was paralyzed from the shooting and died Thursday from complications of a "remote gunshot wound to the back." His death has been ruled a homicide.
On Nov. 4, 2013 around 8:45 p.m., officers were called to North Memorial Medical Center on a report of a person who had been shot.
An investigation revealed the shooting happened on the 2000 block of Irving Ave. N. Jones was sitting in the passenger seat of a car when he was shot, police reported.
Based on witness statements, police say it appears the shooting may have been drug related.
The Minneapolis Police Department Assault Unit has been investigating this case since it was first reported. Homicide investigators have now been added to this case.
No one is in custody and no suspects have been identified.
