Traffic was redirected around County Road 42 and Pilot Knob Road in Apple Valley after a fuel tanker tipped over Sunday morning.
According to Sgt. Troy Ruby of the Dakota Communications Center, authorities received calls of the tanker around 7:45 a.m. Law enforcement was on scene redirecting traffic. The road is currently open.
There were no injuries, authorities said.
About 150 to 200 gallons of gas leaked onto the road and the sidewalk. The leak was plugged shortly after and a hazmat team covered the puddles of gas with sand and absorbent dirt.
Apple Valley police is investigating why the tanker tipped over. They say it was likely a weight transfer issue, since no one cut the driver off, and the driver was not speeding.
The gas will be pumped off the truck. The truck was uprighted by a tow truck.
