The community of Sleepy Eye, located in southwestern Minnesota, is mourning the loss of four young men who were killed in a crash Friday night.

Sleepy Eye High School was open to students Monday, despite a day off from classes.

School district administrators opened the school from 10 a.m. to noon for students to gather and deal with the deaths of four young people killed in a Friday night car crash. Monday was scheduled as an in-service day for teachers.

Grief counselors were at the school Monday, and will return again on Tuesday.

Eighteen-year-old John Mangen and 20-year-old Tyler Hadley recently graduated from the high school. Caleb Quesenberry and Payton Adams, both 17, attended nearby high schools. Police say Adams' brother, 19-year-old Kansas Adams, was driving the car when it slid into the path of a pickup on an icy road near Sleepy Eye. Kansas is hospitalized in critical condition.

The State Patrol says the pickup driver and two children are hospitalized with non-critical injuries.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
