The evacuation order has been lifted and people are being allowed to return home following a fire at a fertilizer warehouse in Northwood, IA, according to sister station ABC 6.

According to ABC 6 News, hazmat crews tested the air and found no dangerous levels of sulfuric acid posing a threat to the community.

The fire broke out around 7:30 Thursday morning at Northwood Ag Products at the Northwood Municipal Airport. Multiple agencies responded.

Northwood was evacuated over concerns the wind could blow potentially dangerous fumes into nearby homes.  An emergency shelter was set up in Kensett. The American Red Cross was also helping in the response.

No further details were released.
