Fire officials suspect arson in the house fire that injured one dog in Brooklyn Center Wednesday.

Another dog is missing.

The fire started around 2:30 a.m. on the 7200 block of West River Road. When firefighters arrived, all of the residents had escaped. The house sustained “substantial” damage, and the roof collapsed, according to fire officials.

Numerous fire departments assisted the Brooklyn Center Fire Department with the blaze. The cause is still under investigation.
